Daniel sat comfortably talking in the corner with Gabriel and Valdermar. It seemed while most people now shunned the Beaumont’s, Gabriel’s eagerness to show off his new ‘son’ to all and sundry had meant that Valdermar had received a last minute invitation to the ball. Jaedyn wandered around the party showing off the child to all that would look, despite being told several times to put the little one to bed by her husband.
When it had come around to Daniel’s turn to see the babe he’d scrutinised it closely for some clue that what Sophie had told him was true. Unable to spot any distinguishing features on the child, he settled on the decision that perhaps, he’d see something when it was older and less ‘baby like’. As like many men he found them all to look the same at that age.
Still he couldn’t deny that if it was indeed a falsehood it was a lie that seemed to make Gabriel and Jaedyn happier than Daniel ever remembered seeing the couple.
“So how is your son?” Gabriel asked Valdermar.
“Growing fast” Valdermar smiled “Make the most of it, they don’t stay baby’s for long next thing you know they have sticky little finger’s into everything”
“What about you Daniel?” Any news from you and Sophie? You’ve been married 6 months.. or are you still chasing her around the bed posts?” Gabriel laughed.
Daniel cringed the sooner that joke wore off the better “No news yet” he smiled though clenched teeth, sorely tempted to wipe the smile off Gabriel’s face with the new’s of Jaedyn’s indiscretions.
“Speak of the devil and she shall appear” Valdermar chuckled, finding the joke just as amusing but motioning to where Sophie approached.
Daniel watched with trepidation as the young woman approached always nervous that she would do or say something to embarrass him. Shuffling to the side he moved to allow her to sit beside him, but was instead surprised as she unceremoniously dumped herself on his lap.
“Sophie!” he smiled with a mixture of shock and embarrassment.
“Daniel” she purred, running her finger nail’s across the back of his neck with just enough force that it was painful but in a pleasurable way “Is it time to go to bed yet?”
Suddenly feeling a flush with colour, “Not yet” he managed to mumble.
“Shame” she smiled, leaning forward to kiss him.
Taken back by her sudden forwardness and even more so when the kiss he received. It was quite unlike the light peck she’s planted on him in the church. The only other kiss the couple had shared in 6 months of marriage.
Instead, he suddenly found her tongue entering his mouth, it wasn’t forceful or aggressive but she gently massaged his tongue with hers, her lips warm, eager and inviting while she ran her fingers across his neck and though his hair drawing him in.
After a moment or two she pulled away smiling her steel colour eye’s, gazing upon him for a second before she suddenly turned her attention back to Gabriel and Valdermar. “Sorry Gentlemen” she apologised coyly before standing “I’ll leave you to my husband”
Daniel sat stunned for a moment watching Sophie as she sauntered off back towards the party, not quite sure what the hell had just happened, but knowing whatever it was he really wanted it to happen again.
“Well that’s an improvement on your wedding night” Gabriel chuckled.
“Yes” Daniel managed to murmur, unable to take his eyes off her as she walked away. His cheek’s flushed with colour “Excuse me” he apologised, standing he raced off to chase her across the room.

(PS Speaking of dresses … when I was reading through the Kaitlyn & Alistair I fell in love with just about everything Kaitlyn wore … so I found & downloaded them … thing is they’re perfect in style for Albion’s [my kingdom’s] future Queen, and I’m writing a blog about it, so … long story short, do you mind if I blantantly copy?)
2) Oooh. Has Sophie decided which path to take? Or is she just trying to please/not embarrass Daniel?
I know there are sooo many pretty dress’s out there, i think one of my all time favorites is a really simple blue and white on Kaitlyn wore in university. I’m really debating trying to do a re-colour of it… i’m rubbish at stuff like that but i do love that dress and i only have it in blue and i’d really like it in pink and green.
But no i don’t mind if you use them they arn’t mine after all :)

PS Have you checked out some of the stuff at All About Style? (http://www.all-about-style.com/index.html ) She has some gorgeous medieval gowns (and stuff for guys too GASP!) under Themes. Plus I used her Victorian section to fill out some clothing categories that were lacking in my hood, like swimwear. :-)
