“Oh dear” Orrick chuckled, watching his wife vomit over the closet stool for the 2nd time this morning “What have we done?”
“Oh behave Orrick” Nicole scowled, cleaning herself up before venturing to stand.
“Three days in a row isn’t it” Orrick smirked.
“I know what you’re thinking” Nicole glared “but stop, It’s ridicules notion at my age”
“So… you don’t think?”
“No I do not” Nicole retorted “it’s just the change coming on me”
“Oh alright then” Orrick laughed “I guess we’ll know soon enough one way or the other”
“Yes I guess we will” Nicole replied “Now git, I need to see to Holly and the last thing I need is you causing me havoc”
Orrick moved out of the way but gave his wife a playful slap on the backside as she moved past him.
“Orrick!” she scolded.
“I’m sorry I have no defence” he replied “ it was simply there”
“Your as bad as the children” she grumbled giving her hair a quick check in the mirror before heading out and towards the guest room where Holly was staying.
“Morning” she called walking into the room to find Holly still in bed.
Holly groaned pulling the blanket up over her head.
Nicole glanced disapprovingly at the tray of uneaten breakfast that lay untouched. “You haven’t touched your breakfast” She noted.
“Im not hungry” Holly grumbled from beneath the sheets.
“I suppose you weren’t hungry last night either when you didn’t eat your dinner?”
Nicole sighed, pulling the sheets back forcefully “up you get! Where going for a ride”
“I don’t want too” Holly protested, pulling herself up the bed into a sitting position.
“Nonsense the fresh air will do you good, besides I’m not having you sit around here like a lump for the next two weeks”
“Maybe I like being a lump”
Nicole raised an eyebrow, “Feeling sorry for yourself isn’t helping”
“What would you know!” holly growled.
“Holly! If you remember I was younger than you when my husband was killed leaving me with two small children to fend for”
“You can’t have been that upset” Holly retorted “you ended up marrying the guy who killed him”
“Sorry” Holly replied, she didn’t really have anything against Orrick or her mother, she was just feeling bitter and angry.
“I should hope so” Nicole replied opening the wardrobe “ok so what do you want to wear today?”
“I don’t care” holly sulked.
“Well you should care” Nicole reasoned.
“Why it’s not like anyone’s going to see me?”
“You never know what’s going to happen” Nicole replied “A lady should always look her best, besides what would people think seeing the queen unkempt and dishevelled?”
“I’ll be surprised if Thomas hasn’t replaced me already”
“Holly pack it in, I won’t have you feeling sorry for yourself this way it doesn’t do yourself any good”
“Well give me one thing I have to look forward to?” Holly retorted.
“I didn’t raise a quitter” Nicole replied harshly “You’re a bright funny girl when you choose to be, just got to pick yourself up and dust yourself off”
“My husband cheated on me, what am I supposed to do about that?”
“I can’t answer that” Nicole sighed.
“Do you think I should go back to him?”
“I don’t know, only you can know that, but what I do know is that if you go back to him you need to make sure he treat’s you right” Nicole replied sorting thought the hangers full of gown’s. “how about this one” she called pulling out a pale yellow gown, holding it up for several moments “holly” she called exasperated.
Receiving no answer, she hooked the gown over the door, “Are you going to answer me?” she snapped seeing the Holly had pulled the blankets back up.
Holly didn’t answer.
Nicole huffed, heading over to the bed she pulled back the covers “Holly!” she demanded, getting annoyed that she was being ignored. Pulling the blankets back Nicole screamed “Orrick!!!” she called “Orrick get the doctor quick… Somethings wrong with Holly”
