Invitation to dinner
Asha sat next to Wolf in is wagon at it bounced along the road towards the Bauemont estate, his calling at her house and inviting her to dinner had taken her by quite suprise, still she didn’t see any harm in accepting. Wolf had been right even though he was different, she was different too and perhaps the thought of two fairly different people being together wasn’t so strange.
“Are you sure your father doesn’t mind?” Asha asked.
“No” Wolf replied honestly “It was his idea”
“Oh” Asha replied thinking it was strange after all that had gone on “he didn’t seem too happy about our first date”
“We talked, he’s alrite now” Wolfe replied warily.
“Is this a date?” Asha asked “I mean is that your intention?”
“I guess so” Wolf replied, not really knowing what else to say, his fathers warning still rigning in his ears.
Asha reached out her hand meeting his on the reign’s “Stop” she grinned.
Wolf looked at her cautiously “what’s up lass?” he asked.
“Change for me” she grinned “I mean I assume you can just do it?”
Wolf raised an eyebrow “Aye lass I can, but why?”
“I don’t know” she grinned “I just want to see it.. i mean i assume you don’t lose control of yer self.. I don’t want yer to eat me” she laughed.
“I don’t eat people” Wolf replied slightly offended.
“I didn’t think you did” she giggled “Please show me”
“Why?”
“I dunno, because you can” she replied, “Come on, please”she urged.
“Which form?” wolf asked.
“There are different ones?”
“Aye, wolf and battle are the common ones”
“do wolf?” she replied excitedly.
Wolf sighed, looking around he confirmed there was no-else near by, before gently slipping into the form of a Wolf, he sat there looking at her still on the seat of the wagon but now in wolf form completely indistinguishable from that of a real wolf.
Asha grinned inspecting him closely “that’s amazing, your look just like one, do battle now” she urged.
Sure enough a few moments later Wolf sat in the hybrid form, a form that sat somewhere between that of man and wolf with powerful limbs and wicked looking claws. Asha stared, looking horrified, the bestial form truly awe inspiring. “Can… can you talk” she stammered, wolf didn’t replied just shook his head by way of response. Asha nervously reached out her hand, touching him gently on the muzzle noting the powerful looking jaws that looked quite capable of taking off a hand if wolf so wished it.
“Ok i’ve seen enough” Asha replied quietly her excitement gone.
Wolf nodded shifting back into his human form “Put ya off?” he asked.
“No…” Asha replied, visibly shaken “Ive.. it.. wow” she chuckled nervously “your big hu?”
“Aye I guess”
“I’m not put off” she reassured him “I just needed to see, can you understand that?”
Wolf shrugged reminding himself that he was under orders not to get involved with the young woman “i guess” he replied moving the wagon off again.
They were about twenty minutes away from the Karogar cabin when Asha spoke again “Wolf” she asked nervously “will you something for me?”
“What?” Wolf replied.
“When we get to your house, will you kiss me.. before we go inside…will you just do it please?”
Wolf raised an eyebrow “Kiss ya? Why?”
“It’s driving me insane” Asha chuckled nervously “Thinking about when it’s going to happen. What’s it going to be like? I just think if we get it over with I can get on with enjoying myself”
Wolf chuckled hiding his own embarrassment “Ye ain’t half forward for a lass”.
“So will you?” she urged.
Wolf pulled in the reign’s of the wagon stopping the horses “Asha lass, are ye alway’s in such a rush?”
“I’m sorry” she apologised “I like you, I don’t feel I have to hide my gifts from you… I guess I just want to know where we stand, I figure if we kiss we’ll know if there is something there or we’ll know to just be friends”.
Well I guess they would. The way her brother is you’d think he would have tried to stop them, but guess not. I hope she’s okay, I would really hate for Lar’s to kill her. And anyway they could help fight against the vampires.
